We respect your privacy. Please read the following to find out about our practices regarding the collection, use and disclosure of your personal information on our website.
We will only use the information that we collect about you lawfully (in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998) and according to guidelines set out by the Which? Web Trader Code of Practice. The information we hold about you is that information given by you at the time of making a donation, becoming a member, making an enquiry or subscribing to our email newsletter.
We collect and securely store any personal information that you provide. Any credit or debit card payments made online are handled on our behalf through the secure servers of SECPay. We do not receive your card details and at no time are these details stored by SECPay as plain text.
Your personal information is never made available to other organisations or companies, and may be used in the following ways:
- to mail or email you with information related to our activities
- to contact you in the event of any necessary communication requested by you or initiated by us (e.g. to confirm or check your details)
- to remind you when your membership subscription(s) are due for renewal, if applicable
The accuracy of your personal details is governed by the accuracy of the information you provide. We do not verify personal information, other than that which is provided for payment purposes. We arenot responsible for errors or problems that arise as a result of inaccurate information provided by you.
We use "cookies" on our website as part of the online membership system, but only to keep track of your order once you have selected a membership category. Our cookies do not detect anything else you have stored on your computer, and they are removed from your computer once you have completed your order.
We also use a persistent cookie to record your display preference for our website, ie; Text Only, High contrast, etc. This cookie will remain on your computer so that you do not have to set your preference every time you visit our website. This cookie is called style and is set to expire if you do not re-visit our website for 100 days, at which point it will automatically be deleted by your system.
